I have been terrified of this day for a while. Westin has surgery on Thursday. We have to be there at 6:00am and surgery is scheduled at 7:30am. We met with Dr. S. today and he walked me through some things. We registered with the hospital etc. and it took a million and a half years to get everything done. I had to miss rehearsal today with my Girls....ugh I was not happy about that. I only get to spend so much time with them and I was not happy to be stuck in a waiting room.<br />
<br />
I have a million different emotions going on right. First my sweet perfect babies smile is about to change. I am so excited for him but sad too because he has had that perfect smile for 4 months.<br />
<br />
I am terrified about my little guy going through surgery. I just keep praying that God will protect him, but I can't help and wonder "what if" I just keep praying that God to please not take another child from me (Selfish right? We should all wish to be in God's Kingdom) But I want more time with my babies. I think its total legitimate fear considering Luke's passing.<br />
<br />
I do ask for prayers. Please pray for Westin, for his surgeons and that everything will go perfect! And please pray for me, this mommy is trying to be brave, and faithful but it has proven to be a hard task this go round.<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">My prayer for this week: <span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; line-height: 16px;">"For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand & says to you, Do not fear; I will help you" Isaiah 41:13</span></span><br />

</div>On that morning we woke up and had to be at the hospital at 6:00am. They took Jenni back around 7:30ish. Once Justin, Thaddeus and I got dressed in our Pillsbury doughboy outfits we made our way to the OR. At 8:03 sweet Westin arrived. I will never forget the moment I saw that sweet face. I remember being relieved that he was healthy and crying. Ay 8:05 came Tatum my sweet girl :) From that moment we left Jenni. Thaddeus went with Westin and me Tatum. After they did the usual clean them off etc. We knew Westin was going to have to go to NICU so they let me Thaddeus and the twins go back in the OR and spend some time with Jenni and Justin before Westin went to NICU. I think they let us back because we knew his issues was going to be eating not anything life threatening, but that's just my theory. After our time with Jenni Thaddeus went to NICU with W and me to transition with T. That's when my family got to see Tatum. After transition we got to bring Tatum in to NICU so that I could see Westin too. I won't ever forget that moment. Over the next couple of days Westin was on a feeding tube and learning how to use a bottle with his cleft and Tatum went under the Billi lights on day 2 for jaundice. Westin spent 2 weeks in NICU and came home with us!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</span></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I will start with Westin. He got off his feeding tube about 4 days after he left the hospital. From then he has done SO well. He has a incomplete bilateral cleft palate and lip. So what is that? It is where his lip is not a full cleft lip and his palate is only a partial. He has his hard palate in tact the soft one is the part that will have to be repaired. YAY thats great news because this means he will have less surgeries. Right now he has an appliance put in and it reshapes his nose. This means he will not have to have reconstructive surgery on his nose. His first surgery to repair his lip on September 22nd. </div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

Whats it like at out house tonight.....hmmmm well for about an hour after I got hom from dinner/work I walked around my house, yep for a full hour I could not figure out what to do and I could not wrap my head around it all. Bags are packed house is pretty clean...am I forgetting something???<br />
<br />
I have cried tears of joy tonight just so thankful that tomorrow I get to be a mom again! Tears of sadness last time I did this I had my Luke and I know he will be watching every moment with us....he is a reason I get Tatum and Westin. I cry for my puppies, man they have no idea what is coming in the next couple of days... they have been my babies for 4 years, culture shock for them right? The simple thoughts of next time I do ....(fill in the blank)....I will have babies! I will get to celebrate mother's day this year....I did last year in a sense but I get to hold and love on my babies, my little miracles....well I guess "our" Thaddeus is included somewhere in all of this right ? ;)<br />
<br />
Then I cry in awe and gratefulness for Jenni. My very best friend is having babies for me and my husband tomorrow...how many people get to say that. How many people get to take the tragedy of a loss and turn it into the most amazing miracle and blessing in the world. Jenni, though you will read my note to you tomorrow thank you, Thaddeus and I love you so much!!<br />
<br />
I will leave it on this note. On Sunday as Thaddeus and I were having our last lunch as not having kids after church we were sitting next to a couple at Newks. They were talking about how the Loss or death of a child can ruin a marriage....Thaddeus and I looked at each other smiled and both agreed that we totally disagree with that statement. Our love and marriage is stronger then I could have ever imagined because of the loss of Luke.<br />
<br />
Please pray for tomorrow, pray for sleep for all of us tonight, a smooth csection for Jenni tomorrow, and healthy babies!!<br />
<br />
Thank you Lord for our journey, our story, our loss that turned into a blessing. I am so very thankful for each step of our journey!! Will post updates later!!!<br />

Her blood pressure was high so she had to monitor her urine for 24 hours...fun right? She also had to have blood work just to ensure she didn't have PIH (Pregnancy induced Hypertension). Thankfully Jenni passed all the tests, yay! NO BABIES TOMORROW!!!<br />
<br />
We go see Norton tomorrow and we will find out more details on if we will keep the twins date to May 3rd or possibly move it to April 28th or 29th! Please pray that twins stay healthy and gain a little more weight in their last 9 or 13 days inside their fluffy mattress home! Please pray for Jenni she is still throwing up....yep she is 36 weeks and still vomiting 24/7!<br />
<br />
I have put the twins car seats in the car...I will post pictures later!!<br />
<br />
Thanks for the prayers, love and support!!!<br />

Okay so I cry just thinking about it. Today we saw Dr. H. and had some fun facts shared with us. Please see the Stats below:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Westin is weighing 3lbs7oz</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Tatum is weighing 3lbs15oz</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">HOLY COW they are big. Starting at 34 weeks babies tend to increase their weight by a half a pound each week. So that means at 34 weeks that they will potentially be at the minium 2lbs heavier. Not to mention that we are still 3 weeks from 34 weeks :) So who knows how much they gain over these next 3 weeks ;). Poor Jenni I hope my kids don't make her that miserable, you know? Today one the babies kicked so hard we could see it on the outside, and I got to feel it too :) </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I have a shower this weekend! Very excited and looking forward to it. I will post some pictures from my 1st shower too! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">In the mean time please pray for the following: Prayer for continued growth & development of the twins. Prayers for Jenni as she continues to work and wait hand and foot on new mommies at the hospital. And lastly for me, lots going on and would just love some general prayers!! </div><br />
Until next time<br />

We were there for 4 hours almost 5 hours. But that aside the appointment was great. Westin weighs 2lbs 8ounces and Tatum weighs 2lbs 5ounces. I can't believe they already weigh over 2 pounds! Westin doubled his weight in just one week! They are already so big :) Luke was only 13 ounces when he was born so 2lbs is HUGE in comparison and that's all I have to compare it to!<br />
<br />
My 1st shower is this weekend! It is my family shower, my 2 aunts and sister are hosting it and I am so looking forward to it!<br />
<br />
The twins will be here in 75 days! I can't believe it 75 days I am so excited!!! Today I ordered Westin's bottle, it's called the Haberman bottle made by Medela. Pictured below! This will help him feed with his cleft.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-halCQcyFD6k/TV4KoQRS4vI/AAAAAAAAANw/TZfKBBRQPy0/s1600/special_needs_feeder.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-halCQcyFD6k/TV4KoQRS4vI/AAAAAAAAANw/TZfKBBRQPy0/s1600/special_needs_feeder.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<div>So we went to Texas Children's today and met with the Specialist that will be working with Westin and his Cleft. Today we brought our ultra sound pictures and she said she could almost guarantee that he has a Cleft Lip, Cleft Palate & Unilateral Cleft meaning it extends to the nose. We have trouble seeing it and in fact we go the high risk dr tomorrow for an additional U/S. (We go to her once a month). I have attached some pictures for everyone so you know what to expect when he is born in terms of looks wise. He will be able to eat normally he will have some special bottles, he will be able to go home if born on time and this is not life threatening. His measurements are all right on schedule which tells us there are no underlying syndromes :) So here is our time line:</div><div><br />
</div><div>One week old: We meet with pediatric orthodontics <wbr></wbr>specialist Dr. B. Westin gets fitted for his appliance that will mimic a palate which will just help him eat better!! </div><div><br />
</div><div>Our pediatric plastic surgeon is Dr. S! Which I have heard in the best!!! </div><div><br />
</div><div>3 months old: Surgery One, he will undergo the 1st of three surgies to repair the nose, palate and lip. We do not think it is going to affect his nose based on the pictures we have seen but just in case! </div><div><br />
</div><div>6 months old: Surgery #2</div><div><br />
</div><div>9months old: Surgery #3</div><div><br />
</div><div>So by that time he will be completely repaired. At 1 yrs old he will start meeting with a speech pathologists to help pronounce hard <wbr></wbr>consonants. </div><div><br />
</div><div>He will have cosmetic surgeries to accommodate his growth of his face at ages 4, 10 & 16. He will get braces at age 10 just to help keep his teeth in the correct spot. </div><div><br />
</div><div>All in all after being a Texas Children's today and seeing all the bald kids and their smiles and good attitudes and this sweet little bald boy wearing a hat and singing and playing the guitar I have realized that what Westin has is not life threatening and though I wish he was not going to have to have surgery I am relieved that of everything that could go wrong this is it and for that I am very very grateful! The pictures they showed me today were beautiful before and after pictures!! So I am very confident his scare will be very small! I am attaching pictures because some of the pictures on the Internet are worst case scenario. He will look different at birth and I want everyone to be prepared to see that. My biggest fear is that people will stare at him and not love on him as much as Tatum so if you could please give them equal attention I would appreciate that! </div><div><br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div>ON THE PICTURE PLEASE REFER TO THE LEFT SIDE ON THE PICTURE VS. THE RIGHT. THE LEFT SIDE OF BOTH PICTURES IS WHAT THEY ARE THINKING HE HAS! WE KNOW IT IS NOT THE RIGHT SIDE BECAUSE HE HAS THE CUTEST THADDEUS NOSE, THEY ACTUALLY BOTH GOT T'S NOSE, THANK GOD :) Aren't we so lucky we live in Houston and have access to the best drs!! </div><div><br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div>Ready for things to go perfectly!! I am hoping that we will stop getting stepped on while we are down! I am very very very ready for things to go right!! (Don't get me wrong 2 healthy twins through IVF and Surrogacy is a huge miracle in itself) I am just saying I would love a decade of great news all the time :) </div><div><br />
</div><div>We could use Prayers on the following please: </div><div>Continued Growth & Development of the twins</div><div>Jenni's health & Strength</div><div>For me, this is a lot to take in! </div><div>For my family we have had it tough lately! </div><div>For my students (mostly the older ones) That they don't think every pregnancy is dangerous, high risk etc. Poor things might say they never want kiddos!! </div><div>And prayers that our family stops becoming negative statistics :) </div><div><br />
</div><div><br />

Look at his perfect nose :) </div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>So we went to the High risk Dr. H. on Wednesday and the appointment was not really what we expected.<div> <div>We found out that Westin has a birth defect known as a cleft lip. I almost fainted in the room when she said that. I got light headed, dizzy and my heart started racing.....after a couple of tears and just sad because this is my precious little boy and I can't help or hold him right now! </div><div>So he will be born with a cleft lip and we will meet with some pediatric plastic surgeons at TCH and he will have surgery between 3-6 months of being born. It may take one surgery or two but we wont know more until he is actually born. The bad news is, that he will have to have surgery. The good news is that he does not have a cleft palate, they are both healthy and growing like crazy. For that I am thankful and feel so blessed! </div><div><br /></div><div>On the other hand we got a great picture of him! Which was so exciting because we hadn't really gotten any pictures on 4D of him! Tatum was not as cooperative she did not feel like having her picture taken on Wednesday!! </div><div><br /></div><div> </div><div>Here are the stats!! </div><div>Westin:</div><div>141 bpm</div><div>1lb. 7oz</div><div>His legs measured 26weeks and 5 days!!! She will have long legs too! </div><div><br /></div><div>All vital organs are there and they are healthy! I delivered Luke at 23weeks and 6 days which is this Tuesday! I will be glad to make it to 24 weeks!</div><div><br /></div><div>Please pray for my sweet babies and that they continue to grow and develop! Pray for Jenni as she carries our sweet miracles and please pray for me just for my continued faith in knowing that this is Gods plan and he has chosen us to live this "story" and for that we are thankful!! </div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks, Kristin</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></div>Jenni & Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489165670874635936noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212043849335459072.post-7356010657442895482011-01-14T20:41:00.000-08:002011-01-14T21:31:03.219-08:00Let the Fighting I mean painting begin!!<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">We saw Dr. N. this past week. Jenni's uterus is measuring at 29 weeks :) We are actually at 22 weeks! They used the doppler for heartbeats! Westin's was 141bpm and Tatum's was 146bpm. Just perfect! Next week we see Dr. H. and then back to Dr. N. then to get another 4d ultra sound! Lots of doctors visits coming up! Jenni gets to do her blood glucose test in 2weeks! I am so so excited :) I didn't get to do this while I was pregnant so I am excited to make it to that step. The 2nd half of pregnancy I am looking so forward too. I delivered Luke at 23 weeks and 6 days so I am excited to embark on the journey of pregnancy that I have not yet experienced. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Even though I do not experience it 1st hand I get to watch it! </div><div style="text-align: center;">I am getting so so excited that we have worked on the nursery a lot the past couple of days! We celebrated Luke's 1st birthday on the 3rd and my 27<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">th</span> birthday on the 4<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">th</span>. The two days were actually great. I am truly so thankful for my little man and how much he changed my life. I think of him every day and feel so blessed just to get to be his mom and spend the 2 hours with him that I was able to.<br /><br />There are lots of pictures above. Over the Christmas Dance break we painted the nursery, washed all the twins clothes that I have already. Organized all of their clean clothes by age/size, category (i.e. PJ's, <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">onesies</span>, pants) Then I matched all of their normal clothes and if I didn't have a match I went out and bought something to match it. Therefore I got a lot done.<br /><br />The twins got a box full of stuff from their <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">GiGi</span> (my mom) and my dad (no name yet). Their Granny (T's Mom) & Grandpa (Levi- <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">Margies</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">hubbie</span>) sent the twins piggy banks and cute PJ's.<br /><br />Their <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10">stoller</span> arrived as well! It is precious! Coming this week is their car seat covers and and then after that their custom <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11">onesies</span> I had made for them.<br /><br />We got to do a 4D ultrasound on Tuesday! It was my <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12">bday</span> present. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13">Westin</span> did not want his picture taken at all. He has the chubbiest legs. Tatum stole the show she had about 30 pictures taken of her. She was smiling in a picture, sucking her thumb in one picture and punching her brother in another. They are <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14">bascially</span> butt to face. Tatum is on Jenni's left side and moves all night long and a lot during the day. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15">Westin</span> is on her right and is so chill. Just like his daddy!<br /><br />My Mom (Gigi to the twins) gave me the twins bassinet pack in play. I was so so excited. Everywhere I looked it was sold out I was getting so nervous. She has had it for almost three months!<br /><br />Our <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16">appt</span>. with our high risk <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17">dr</span> went great! No complications. They weight about 9oz. That was 4 weeks ago. We see Dr. N. Again next week and Dr. Hare in a couple of weeks. We will go back for an 3d/4d in about 3 weeks to see the twins again!<br /><br />I just want to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers, We so appreciate them. We ask that you please continue to pray for the babies, and Jenni has they continue to grow.<br /><br /><span style="font-size:180%;">17 more weeks to go!!</span>Jenni & Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489165670874635936noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212043849335459072.post-73235660161262330112010-12-12T21:00:00.000-08:002010-12-12T21:20:34.942-08:00Some Updates<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TQWsbALFIXI/AAAAAAAAAH4/0Q_4glAydyM/s1600/IMG_1392.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 225px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TQWsbALFIXI/AAAAAAAAAH4/0Q_4glAydyM/s320/IMG_1392.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550031695706923378" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">Little Westin</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TQWsaoTj4tI/AAAAAAAAAHw/hXOJE8MH75I/s1600/IMG_1390.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 241px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TQWsaoTj4tI/AAAAAAAAAHw/hXOJE8MH75I/s320/IMG_1390.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550031689300042450" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">Sweet Tatum</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TQWsaTtzYQI/AAAAAAAAAHo/y_pTHzOfoGs/s1600/IMG_1392.jpg"><br /></a></div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TQWsZ7OnplI/AAAAAAAAAHg/no1N9ebendk/s320/DSC_0498%2B%25281%2529.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550031677199722066" /><div style="text-align: center;">Jenni @ 17weeks4days</div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TQWsZnjDXdI/AAAAAAAAAHY/UHC3v7fDkkM/s1600/belly17weeks.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 291px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TQWsZnjDXdI/AAAAAAAAAHY/UHC3v7fDkkM/s320/belly17weeks.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550031671916715474" /></a><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>So we went to the doctor last week and got a show of the twins! Jenni has been so sick the past couple of weeks. So much so that she was admitted on Saturday to Methodist for fluids. They have home health set up for her so that she will receive IV fluids while at home!<br /><br />Please pray that she feels better and that she is able to actually eat. Please continue to pray for the twins as well!<br /><br />Thanks!<br />KristinJenni & Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489165670874635936noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212043849335459072.post-15750206231304386972010-11-29T21:35:00.000-08:002010-11-29T21:43:46.908-08:00Some Treats!<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSOjOsWGaI/AAAAAAAAAGw/1pvLTn_XyBQ/s1600/DSCN0497.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 177px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSOjOsWGaI/AAAAAAAAAGw/1pvLTn_XyBQ/s320/DSCN0497.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5545213777090582946" border="0" /></a>Jenni @ 15weeks and 4days<br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSOc5iC8wI/AAAAAAAAAGo/-2J6qoZpuM4/s1600/DSCN0499.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 177px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSOc5iC8wI/AAAAAAAAAGo/-2J6qoZpuM4/s320/DSCN0499.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5545213668331025154" border="0" /></a>Their is 2 in there!!<br /><br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSOV-1uPfI/AAAAAAAAAGg/nwd6Kdth05c/s1600/DSCN0496.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 194px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSOV-1uPfI/AAAAAAAAAGg/nwd6Kdth05c/s320/DSCN0496.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5545213549496647154" border="0" /></a>Another belly shot!!<br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSNskNq8fI/AAAAAAAAAGY/vPrPP0H9o8s/s1600/Baby%2BCarseat"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSNskNq8fI/AAAAAAAAAGY/vPrPP0H9o8s/s320/Baby%2BCarseat" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5545212837974700530" border="0" /></a><br />Their "running errands, trips to target and hobby lobby" Car seats!!<br /><br /></div><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSNd8iuJII/AAAAAAAAAGQ/3R86-qSAjlc/s1600/Westin%2BBedding"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 230px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSNd8iuJII/AAAAAAAAAGQ/3R86-qSAjlc/s320/Westin%2BBedding" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5545212586807403650" border="0" /></a>Westin Bedding (Hayden was the example name not our pick)<br /><br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSNUdkm-bI/AAAAAAAAAGI/yHViwuYncdw/s1600/Tatum%2BBedding"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 232px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TPSNUdkm-bI/AAAAAAAAAGI/yHViwuYncdw/s320/Tatum%2BBedding" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5545212423875000754" border="0" /></a>Tatum Bedding!<br /><br /><br /></div>This week has been a week of shopping! We had some routine tests down. The twins have a 1 in 2900 chance of down syndrome and 1 in 16,000 chance of trisonmy. Those are both below the normal average, so all in all great results!<br /><br />For Thanksgiving we gave everyone in the family a picture. Thaddues family hasn't received their pictures yet because we are mailing them with their Christmas presents. But we did tell them. It was so exciting to share the news.<br /><br />We have also picked out their names!!!<br /><br />Baby A: The Boy is WESTIN THOMAS SHARP<br /><br />Baby B: The Girls is TATUM NICOLE SHARP<br /><br />Thanks for your prayers! Jenni made it to 12 weeks with the twins! What a miracle. Here are the stats below:<br /><br />Baby A is measuring 12 weeks and 6 days<br />Baby B is measuring 12 weeks and 4 days<br /><br />Baby A heart rate was 150bpm<br />Baby B heart rate was 159bpm<br /><br />The ultra sound checked out fine so there are no indications via U/S that we should be worried about Down Syndrome or Trisonmy (Thank you God)<br /><br />Dr. N. Said the twins look perfect, Jenni is perfect, everything is perfect.<br /><br />We recorded the U/S and it was a good 15-20 mins long today. Baby B has my nose and chin and Baby A has Thaddeus nose and chin. Baby B was shorter legs and Baby A has really really long legs. Baby A was moving all around today including punching and kicking. Baby B was spinning around like crazy and actually sucked its thumb, melted my heart. I have watched the U/S three times already....probably could watch it for hours. I am so in love!<br /><br /><span style="font-size:180%;">Lastly we know the Gender! </span>We are not telling anyone yet because it is still early and there is always room for error. But lets say we are so sure that names, bedding and nursery colors have been picked out already :) Its so hard to keep a secret but so worth it. We go back to the doctor in 3 weeks and then see the high risk Dr. H. in 5 weeks......<br /><br />The twins received their 1st gender appropriate gift today from my mom and dad I can't show obviously but they are precious!<br /><br />Thanks for your prayers we so much appreciate them, please pray for continued growth and healthy development, for Jenni, and for me as I deal with missing Little Luke still!<br /><br />Also can you please say a special prayer for my friend "C" they are dealing with some unexpected issues with their baby. Please pray for healing, wisdom, faith and strength! I fell in love all over again. Baby A was very active. I begged Jenni to drink a Dr. Pepper today so the babies would be active. Anyways baby A was dancing up a storm...it melted my heart. Baby B was much more laid back moved a little but was not as "showey" as Baby A. They already have personalities and I love it! Baby A is already over active like me and wanting to be the center of attention like Thaddeus. Baby B was so laid back like Thaddeus as he can be chill at any moment and kind of hid behind the scenes like me :) They are a perfect mix already! They are perfect and beautiful in every way. I will never forget today and watching them dance around!<br /><br />Baby A: BPM 174 Measuring at 10W1d<br />Baby B: BPM 171 Measuring at 10w2d<br /><br />They are both measuring a day or two ahead and I am A okay with that! Dr. N. said to expect them anytime between the end of April and Early May. Jenni had a "Due in May" shirt on and Dr. N. said we might want to add the line " but a strong possibility that we will be born early in April" Today was a great day, love seeing my babies.<br /><br />Jenni got to do her last PIO shot, yay! I know she is so relieved but I'll let her share her side!<br /><br />We see Dr. N in two weeks and will start looking for the Gender in 4 weeks :)<br /><br />Thanks for your prayers!<br /><br />-KristinJenni & Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489165670874635936noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212043849335459072.post-87474061399292877572010-10-12T10:11:00.000-07:002010-10-12T17:40:25.158-07:00Thankful<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TLSdlx0514I/AAAAAAAAAEY/CF2n6mcohDI/s1600/DSCN0269.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 301px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TLSdlx0514I/AAAAAAAAAEY/CF2n6mcohDI/s320/DSCN0269.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5527215915046393730" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Jenni & I at the Steven Curtis Chapman Concert<br /><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TLSXG07b0eI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/P8GuSoG8JN8/s1600/IMG_0766.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 251px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TLSXG07b0eI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/P8GuSoG8JN8/s320/IMG_0766.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5527208786233381346" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;">The "Twins" at 8 weeks<br /><br /><br /></div>Things have been kind of quiet around here. We had our 8 week ultra sound last Wednesday and the twins look great!<br /><br />Baby A has a heart rate of 167 and baby B is 163. Baby A was measuring at 7 weeks and 6 days and Baby B was measuring at 8 weeks and 1 day! They are growing strong! Won't have to drive to memorial city at 7:00am anymore :)<br /><br />We went to the event Night with the Chapman's It was a concert of Steven Curtis Chapman in which Mary Beth Chapman was speaking at about their loss of their little girl Maria. It was so touching and could relate to so much of what she was saying. It was almost like I have known her for 10 years because of everything she was saying, feeling etc.<br /><br />I started to reflect on the many things I was thankful for the people that have helped me and Thaddeus.<br /><br />I am thankful for the story God has given me/us and the fact that he has entrusted Thaddeus and I to have "our story"<br /><br />I am thankful for an amazing husband that on my weak days he is strong and continues to pray for me daily.<br /><br />I am thankful for my family and their encouraging words & Love.<br /><br />I am thankful for Jenni. God has trusted her to carry our twins and I am thankful that she is surrogate for the call and not for financial reasons. The majority of surrogates are in it for the money. I am thankful for the genuine friendship that Jenni and I have and knowing that my best friend is also the one giving me a Thaddeus a chance to have kiddos. and for Justin (he is a great support system to Jenni)<br /><br />I am thankful for our church family and their continues prayers!<br /><br />Thankful for my students: They can put the biggest smiles on my face (especially during Saturday production rehearsal) Sometimes they make me laugh so hard I cry.....I hope that my kiddos if girls are as respectful as the majority of them are.<br /><br />I am thankful for my L&D nurses I had a St. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Lukes</span> ( Jennifer, Erin, Celinda, & Dawn) Those woman continued to check on me and still do. It makes such a difference when your nurses are fantastic as you are grieving through such a loss.<br /><br />Dr. Carpenter for my amazing almost <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">scarless</span> C-section, Dr. Norton for her continuous support even has we approach our next journey and Dr. Hickman, WOW what an amazing doctor I can't explain how he does it all I can explain is that God has given him an amazing gift in giving couples the chance to have kids that couldn't before.<br /><br />Lastly, I am thankful for My Little Luke! He was the biggest blessing to me. I could not imagine not having those short two hours but I will never forget them. Love you so much Lukas Thomas Sharp, you have changed me forever!<br /><br />-KristinJenni & Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489165670874635936noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212043849335459072.post-46077220665721205062010-09-29T20:04:00.000-07:002010-09-29T20:17:33.757-07:00God's LoveNot a whole lot going on and I like it! I have seen so many twins out in public, just probably notice them more now.<br /><br />A lot of my students have found out. One of my little ones asked me when I will have a baby again? Another in her class said she is going to have another baby <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">thats</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">her's</span> but it will be in someone <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">else's</span> tummy :) But don't worry the lady will give them back to her, she can't keep them :) One other student asked me if my twins were here yet. I love their innocence. I love that parents are explaining to their kids our journey.<br /><br />After Luke passed away I was so worried as to how the kids would be affected. I really do love my students and was worried for their emotions, confusion and so forth. So for parents to actually be explaining our journey, our story, what God has done in our lives just amazes me. We went to Houston IVF aound 8:00am. Dr. Hickman asked Jenni "well what do you think it is?" She guessed twins and yep she was right. Two PERFECT sacs with perfect heartbeats. He said they were PERFECT!<br />Their little heartbeats were around 120bpm. Baby B is measuring at 2.8mm and Baby A is measuring at 2.4mm. They are already so beautiful!<br /><br />We had a celebration lunch with Jenni, her mom, my mom and Myself. Oh and Mackenzie was home from school so she went too ;)<br /><br />I will never forget today and the moment of seeing those miracles on screen and seeing their beautiful heartbeats. In fact I was so excited that when we got to HIVF I got out of the car and left my car running, haha. Jenni was like ummm Kristin are you going to turn off your car?<br />After we found out it was twins I literally sat in the parking lot for 30 mins. I laughed, cried, thanked God, talk to family, called Thaddeus 3 or 4 times while he was booking it to work just to share the moment over and over again. Jenni finally asked me if I was ready to go after sitting the car for a half hour.<br /><br />I am so thankful for these blessings. For Jenni, for my my amazing husband Thaddeus, for Jenni's husband Justin, and our families & friends. I was so afraid after losing Luke that I would never get to be a mom and God has given me that gift again today, thank you Lord. Thaddeus and I have lived our marriage by the verse Pslams 37:4 " Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart" Thank you God for giving me the gift of motherhood. I am so excited to raise these miracles with my family and friends!<br /><br /><br />Please continue to pray for healthy growth for these babies, For Jenni as her body prepares to carry twins again, and for me and Thaddeus. Our lives changed again today forever, have I mentioned how incredibly thankful we are.....<br /><br />-KristinJenni & Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489165670874635936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212043849335459072.post-15097119113333875232010-09-21T14:41:00.000-07:002010-09-21T15:01:33.295-07:00Update :)So....yesterday we had our last and final beta! We expected our number to be somewhere around 6,000 based on the doubling times since our last beta....well, it was 23,219!!! God is so good!! :)<br /><br />Tomorrow, we will be 6 weeks pregnant!!! And, in the morning is our heartbeat(s) confirmation ultrasound at Houston IVF. This is the very first time that we will see the miracle that is truly unfolding before us...I can't even describe how very excited I am!!...and I know Kristin and Thaddeus are too! So...be watching - we'll be updating tomorrow...<br /><br />I was listening to this song today by Kutless "That's What Faith Can Do"...and it just reminds me so much of our surrogacy journey! That because Kristin and Thaddeus continued to be faithful and trust in God's plan, even after losing Luke...we are here today. And, miracles are happening...that's for sure!! :)<br /><br /><div align="center"><strong>"I've seen dreams that move the mountains</strong></div><div align="center"><strong>Hope that doesn't ever end</strong></div><div align="center"><strong>Even when the sky is falling</strong></div><div align="center"><strong>I've seen miracles just happen</strong></div><div align="center"><strong>Silent prayers get answered</strong></div><div align="center"><strong>Broken hearts become brand new</strong></div><div align="center"><strong>That's what faith can do..."</strong></div><div align="center"><strong>~Kutless</strong></div><br />JenniJenni & Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489165670874635936noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212043849335459072.post-21250832207215228522010-09-13T22:00:00.000-07:002010-09-13T22:03:09.382-07:00Beta #3Not a whole lot to post other then Jenni's beta was 1518 today! It all began Saturday afternoon as I noticed some hives on my bottom around my injection sites...continued getting worse Sunday...and by Monday morning, I was having a true allergic reaction. I have hives head to toe and my lips began to swell. I was at work when this happened on Monday and everyone was joking (after the fact) that I looked like the Octo-mom with my new plump lips. So, after taking a few doses of Benadryl and a steroid, it began to clear up. We went first thing to Houston IVF on Tuesday morning and it was determined that I have had so much repeated exposure (this is my third IVF cycle) to the progesterone in sesame oil, that I had a reaction to the type of oil. So, today, was my first dose of progesterone in olive oil...and all seems ok. I was joking with Kristin that you can tell that the baby/babies are Italian - they wanted olive oil...and not sesame oil. ;)</div><br /><div>But, while we were there - Houston IVF decided to do our beta HCG. We were a day early, as it's protocol to be done on 9 days past transfer....and on 9dpt - they want your level to be above 50 to be considered pregnant. Yesterday, at 8dpt, our beta was 166!!!! Praise God!!</div><br /><div>Tomorrow morning is beta #2...and our heartbeat confirmation ultrasound is scheduled for Sept. 22nd. I just can't wait to see what God has in store!!...and can't wait to see what Kristin and Thaddeus are holding in their arms in May!!! :)</div><br /><div>We all feel so VERY blessed...there really are no adequate words. </div><br /><div>Thank you so much for each and every prayer!! Please keep them comin'... :)</div><br /><div>Jenni</div></div>Jenni & Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489165670874635936noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212043849335459072.post-41276493951344852672010-09-06T10:58:00.000-07:002010-09-06T11:03:06.404-07:00Prayers please!!Hi Everyone!!<br />We are needing lot's of prayer. Jenni is having an allergic reaction to the progesterone shots. Which is what gives the baby/babies food until the placenta starts producing its own (Aprox 6 weeks). She has hives all over her body and no her lips are swelling. They have her taking benadryl and we have appointment in the morning for her to be monitored. They will have to switch her to suppositories for the next couple of days (which is not as good) Please pray that Jenni starts feeling better and that the suppositories work well enough for the baby/babies) to get their food.<br /><br />We will be at the doctor in the morning! Will you keep you posted.<br /><br />Thanks for the prayers!!Jenni & Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489165670874635936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212043849335459072.post-25493062883700802782010-09-05T18:17:00.001-07:002010-09-05T18:21:46.321-07:00The Latest tests as of today!!<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TIRBymjjCJI/AAAAAAAAADg/H1ffkE7sZhs/s1600/test1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 115px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TIRBymjjCJI/AAAAAAAAADg/H1ffkE7sZhs/s320/test1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5513604181407238290" border="0" /></a>5 and .75 days past a 5 day transfer...getting darker everyday!<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TIRBswgt3PI/AAAAAAAAADY/KBtWOBf4kuk/s1600/digital.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 74px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Wwn5hWo1RBk/TIRBswgt3PI/AAAAAAAAADY/KBtWOBf4kuk/s320/digital.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5513604081000504562" border="0" /></a>It say's PREGNANT!!! 5 days past 5 day transfer!!<br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br />We have our first official Beta test at HIVF on Wednesday :) We will keep you posted!!<br /></div>Jenni & Kristinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489165670874635936noreply@blogger.com1
